How to Make Chicken Wonton

Prepare the Filling:

  • In a bowl, mix:
    • Minced chicken
    • Garlic paste, ginger paste, and finely chopped green chilies
    • Soy sauce, black pepper, salt, and a pinch of red chili flakes
    • Finely chopped spring onions and coriander
    • Optional: Grated carrots or cabbage for extra crunch
  • Mix well and let it rest for 10–15 minutes.

Prepare the Wonton Wrappers:

  • Use store-bought wonton wrappers or make homemade dough using:
    • Flour, salt, egg, and water
  • Roll out the dough thinly and cut into small squares.

Assemble the Wontons:

  • Place a small amount of chicken filling in the center of each wrapper.
  • Fold diagonally into a triangle and seal the edges with water or beaten egg.
  • Optional: Bring the two ends together and pinch to form a classic wonton shape.

Cook the Wontons:

  • Fried Wontons: Deep-fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
  • Boiled Wontons: Boil in chicken broth or water until they float to the top.
  • Steamed Wontons: Steam for 5–7 minutes until fully cooked.
