How to Make Chicken Wonton
Prepare the Filling:
- In a bowl, mix:
- Minced chicken
- Garlic paste, ginger paste, and finely chopped green chilies
- Soy sauce, black pepper, salt, and a pinch of red chili flakes
- Finely chopped spring onions and coriander
- Optional: Grated carrots or cabbage for extra crunch
- Mix well and let it rest for 10–15 minutes.
Prepare the Wonton Wrappers:
- Use store-bought wonton wrappers or make homemade dough using:
- Flour, salt, egg, and water
- Roll out the dough thinly and cut into small squares.
Assemble the Wontons:
- Place a small amount of chicken filling in the center of each wrapper.
- Fold diagonally into a triangle and seal the edges with water or beaten egg.
- Optional: Bring the two ends together and pinch to form a classic wonton shape.
Cook the Wontons:
- Fried Wontons: Deep-fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
- Boiled Wontons: Boil in chicken broth or water until they float to the top.
- Steamed Wontons: Steam for 5–7 minutes until fully cooked.
