How to Make Chicken Chinese Roll
Prepare the Chicken Filling:
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté garlic, ginger, and green chilies.
- Add boneless chicken (shredded or finely chopped) and cook until tender.
- Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, chili sauce, and vinegar.
- Season with black pepper, red chili flakes, salt, and a pinch of sugar.
- Add thinly sliced cabbage, carrots, capsicum, and spring onions, stir-frying for 2–3 minutes.
- Let the filling cool completely before assembling.
Prepare the Wraps (For Homemade Dough):
- Make a soft dough using flour, salt, oil, and water.
- Let it rest for 15–20 minutes, then roll out into thin flatbreads (roti or paratha).
- Lightly cook on a pan and set aside. (Skip this step if using spring roll sheets.)
Assemble the Rolls:
- Place a portion of the chicken filling in the center of the wrap.
- Add a drizzle of mayo or garlic sauce for extra taste.
- Roll tightly and seal the edges with flour-water paste to prevent opening.
Crispy Coating (Optional):
- Dip each roll in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs or sesame seeds for extra crunch.
Fry or Bake:
- Fried: Deep-fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
- Baked: Brush with oil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes until crispy.
- Air-Fried: Cook at 180°C for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
